K. The figures shall not be less than 0.24 cm 3/32 inch in height. Figures 1 through 12 for the inch scale and 1 through 30 for the metric scale shall be located adjacent to the appropriate inch graduation and centimeter graduation, respectively, and toward the center of the ruler as measured on the ruler width. Figures, for each scale shall read from left to right. All figures shall be marked in black water proof ink or paint and shall be easily read.

L. Workmanship. All surfaces of the ruler shall be smooth. Rulers shall be free from any defects and imperfections which may affect appearance or serviceability.

3. Quality Assurance.

Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the Commercial Item Description, where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to the prescribed requirements.

Contractor Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
