COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
RULER, PLASTIC (DESK)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description, for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
This commercial item description covers a plastic desk ruler with an inch scale and a metric scale.
2. Salient Characteristics:
A. The ruler shall be fabricated of plastic suitable for the purpose intended. The plastic shall be clear and colorless or a neutral color (e.g, white, light yellow, etc.).
B. The material used for marking the graduations and figures shall be waterproof, black in color, and of a good commercial quality.
C. The rulers shall have square corners. The top surface shall be of the two-bevel type. The bottom surface may be undercut along each edge for the full length of the ruler. The bottom surface shall be flat.
D. Dimensions and tolerances shall be as specified in Table I.
