J. Finish. After being fabricated and prior to assembly, all aluminum
parts, including edges, shall be cleaned, etched, and anodized to give a type
II coating (water rinsed dried) in accordance with MIL-A-8625. The finish shall
produce a hard smudge proof surface, capable of providing adequate protection
against corrosion.
K. Each binder shall be legibly and permanently die stamped on the outside of
the back cover with the name or registered trademark of the manufacturer. The
die stamping shall not penetrate the opposite side of the metal.
L. Workmanship. The finished binder’s
front and back plates shall be properly aligned and the finished binders shall
be free of cracks, holes, ripples, heavy scratches, dents, burrs, sharp edges
or any other defects or imperfections which detract from their appearance, constitute a personal hazard, or may impair their serviceability. Minor hairline scratches or marks not easily detectable from a distance of four feet should be permitted.
