Quality Assurance.
A. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspection set forth in the Commercial Item Description, where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to the prescribed requirements.
B. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specification, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
C. Each lot of scales shall be inspection for conformance to the requirements herein. Sampling for inspection shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 using the plans specified below.
D. Visual characteristics- Inspection Level S-2 with an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one scale.
E. Dimensional characteristics- Inspection Level S-2 with an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 4.0 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one scale.
4. Preparation for delivery
Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order.
5. Regulatory Requirements.
“The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)”.
