D. Workmanship. The plastic material shall be uniform in transparency aid
surface finish, and shall be free from gels, scratches, cracks, blisters, pits,
tears~ cuts, holes, fish eyes, creases, and unmelted material. Plastic edges
shall be straight, smooth, and cleanly cut. The binding material shall be
uniform in color and evenly coated. Stitching and sealed seams shall be
straight, of good appearance, and free from skips and gaps. The plastic of
fabricated envelopes shall be flat and free from waviness. Envelopes shall be
clean, well finished, free from dirt, oil, foreign matter, or other defects
which may affect appearance or serviceability.
2. QUALITY ASSURANCE:
A. Responsibility for Inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the
contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection
requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the
contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for
the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless
disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any
of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are
deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
