E. The Bending Test.
Sample fasteners shall be subjected to a cold-bend test. For fasteners 1 inch or less in length, spread the prongs of the fastener to a position which they would assume then in actual use in fastening papers together and then press the prongs back between the fingers, as in normal use, until they touch in their original position. This shall constitute one bend. Prongs over 1 inch in length of the shorter prong, and then pressed back, as in normal use, until they touch in their original position. This shall also constitute one bend. Each sample fastener shall be subjected to 25 complete bends. Prongs shall be bent at the first point of bend in each succeeding procedure. Examine for compliance with 1E.
3. Recovered Materials
The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials accordance with Public Law 94- 580 to the maximum extent practicable.
4. Preparation for delivery.
Packaging, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order.
5. Application for Copies of Technical Documents Referenced Herein:
The issue date in effect on the date of invitation for bids or request for proposal shall be applied (Unless otherwise specified).
