COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
INKING PAD, RUBBER STAMP (FOAM PAD)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers three sizes of foam latex rubber or foam plastic inking pads in covered containers, for use with hand rubber stamps in general office use.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The foam pads in this Commercial Item Description shall be of the following sizes, as specified (See Section 6, Ordering Data).

(Tolerance of +/-1/4 inches shall be permitted on each dimension.)
The thickness of the pad shall not be less than .22 inch nor more than .32 inch.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
3.1.1 Pads shall be split from very small and uniform pore-size foam latex rubber or foam plastic stock. The split side shall be smooth, even and mat-like.
3.1.2 Large pores on the surface of the pad that may cause uneven or improper inking of the stamp shall be cause for rejection.
3.1.3 Pad containers shall be manufacturer’s commercial standard.
