4. QUALITY ASSURANCE
4.1 Contractor Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
4.2 Sampling for examination and testing shall be in accordance with Section 6 of ASTM D 3715M with an AQL of 4 percent defective. The sample unit shall be one roll of tape.

Pin Hole Test. The tape shall be pinhole free when tested by placing a 102 mm by 102 mm (4” by 4”) piece of tape, made by overlapping by 3 mm (1/8”) several strips of the tape, and placing this piece over one end of a 76 mm (3”) round or square 607 mm (2’) long tube. Look into the open end of the tube at a 100 watt bulb placed approximately 303 mm (12”) from the closed end of the tube. After allowing one minute for the eye to adjust to the darkness observe any pin holes in the tape placed over the closed end of the tube.
5. PREPARATION POR DELIVERY
Packaging, packing and marking of the tapes shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order.
