COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TAPE, PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE
DOUBLE-COATED VINYL, CARPET
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description by all Federal agencies.
1. Scope: This Commercial Item Description covers double-coated vinyl carpet tape used for adhering carpet to a clean, smooth floor.
2. Salient Characteristics:
2.1 The tape shall be comprised of a suitable substrate with a coating of pressure sensitive adhesive on each side. The substrate shall be of sufficient tensile strength to exceed the specified adhesion value. One side shall be protected by an appropriate easy release liner.
2.2 Unless otherwise specified, the length of the tape shall be (25 feet) minimum 762 cm. The core shall have an inside diameter of (3 inch+ 1/16, -0) 7.62cm+0.16 cm -O. The width shall be (2 inches + l/32 inch) 5.08 cm f 0.08 cm.
2.3 Tape shall conform with the requirements specified herein and in accordance with Table I.
2.4 Workmanship. The tape shall be uniformly constructed and free from defects which may impair usefulness of the material for the intended purpose. The adhesive shall be coated in a smooth uniform layer over the entire surface of both sides of the tape backing. When unwound, the liner shall remain adhered to the side of the tape. The tape shall be evenly and tightly wound with no voids. The edges shall be clean cut.
