COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
HOLDERS, BINDER, LABEL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies.
1. Scope. This commercial item description covers binder label holders in two sizes, each size with one insertable label and plastic window cover.
2. Classification.
Type: I. 2.54 cm (1 inch) Binder Capacity
II. 5.1 cm (2 inch) Binder Capacity
3. Salient
Characteristics:
3.1 The body shall be one continuous piece of strip steel or plastic with provisions for back assembly of the slip on clip, and retention of the insert label and plastic window. The clip shall be assembled to the body of the holder.
3.2 The holder shall be of the size listed below for use with the binder capacity size indicated and shall be held on binder by a spring clip made from one continuous piece of spring steel.
3.3 When in place, the design of the holder shall be such that it retains the label and window. All holders shall be black.
3.4 Dimensions. Tolerance of + 0.32 cm (1/8 inch)
Size: A. For use with 2.54 cm (1 inch) binder capacity.
Width: 3.18 cm (1.252 inch)
Height: 6.98 cm (2.748 inch)
Size: B. For use with 5.1 cm (2 inch) binder capacity
Width: 6.19 cm (2.437 inch)
Height: 6.99 cm (2.752 inch)
3.5 Workmanship. Holders shall be free from any defects in material and workmanship which may affect appearance or serviceability.
