COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

HOLDERS, LABEL, DESK TRAY

(PLASTIC or METAL)

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all Federal agencies.

1.            Scope.  This commercial item description covers pressure sensitive and clip on type label holders which fit securely onto the 0.8 mm (.03 inch) thick walls of metal desk trays.

2.            Salient Characteristics:

2.1          Holders shall be made of plastic or metal, have a smooth finish and be resistant to corrosion. Holders shall measure 5.7 cm + .9 cm (2.24 inches + .354 inches) long and 2.5 cm + .6 cm ( 1 inch + 0.24 inch) high.

2.2          Not less than one blank and three preprinted labels which are at least 0.2 mm (0.08 inch thick shall be provided with each holder.

2.2          Preprinted labels shall display “Incoming” or “In”, “Outgoing” or “Out”, and “File” in neat characters at least 0.8 cm (.03 inches) high. Printing shall be entirely visible when the labels are inserted into the holder.

2.3          Labels shall be protected by clear plastic and fit snugly into the holders, and not fall out under normal usage.

2.4          Workmanship.  Holders shall be free from defects in material and workmanship which affect appearance or serviceability.

3.            Regulatory Requirement:

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
