COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PENCIL, WHITE CORRECTION LEAD
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification SS-P-201 TYPE IV.
This commercial item description covers white correction lead pencils for hectograph use. The pencils are used in making corrections on hectograph master paper.
I. Salient characteristics.
A. Each lead shall be furnished in one piece, and shall be of such material as to produce smooth, even and uniform marking.
B. Lead shall be centered within the casing and securely bonded (glued) to the casing throughout the entire length. The lead shall be furnished in the color specified.
C. Lead shall be centered within the casing and securely bonded (glued) to the casing throughout the entire length. Lead shall be continuously smooth marking, provide clearly visible lines, not crumble or dust. The lead shall be centered within a tolerance of 0.01 inch the entire length of the pencil.
D. When sharpened the wood casing shall not split, splinter or tear, shall present a smooth finish, and the lead shall not crumble or break.
E. Pencils shall be 7.0 inches long plus or minus 0.25 inches.
F. If required erasers shall be provided in accordance with commercial item description A-A-132.
