COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BINDER, AWARD CERTIFICATE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
commercial item description for all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers a binder which is used to contain and protect 25.7 x 30.8 cm (10-1/8 x 12-1/8 inch) award certificates.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1. Design of binder. The binder opens as a book, and the inside of the back cover shall have ribbon retainers at each corner to securely retain the certificate. The binder is intended for formal presentation.
2.2. Construction. The binder shall consist of a front and back chipboard cover and a joining hinge area. When opened, the binder shall be at least 32.1 cm (12-5/8 inches) high and no more than 55.9 cm (22 inches) wide, including the 1.3 cm (1/2 inch) center hinge score. When closed, the binder shall be not less than 26.4 cm (10-3/8 inches) wide. The outside covering material shall be turned and glued over the edges to cover the margins inside the front and back cover boards and the hinged area.
