COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAPER, CORRECTION, TYPE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification UU-P-1047.
Salient characteristics:
The type correction paper shall be of the following types
Type 1 - for use on original manuscript
Type 2 - for use on carbon copies
Made of suitable material used by the manufacturer in his standard commercial product .
In perforated flat sheet form for ease in tearing . Sheets shall be a minimum of 132 aquare inches, perforated into individual tab sizes not to exceed 2-1/8 x 3 inches long.
Coated on one side with a white cover-up correction material capable of adhering to the paper surface .
Enclosed in an acetate-jacketed folder or other type pouch which will afford protection during handling and usage . Directions for use will be included in or on package.
Performance. The typewriter correction material shall mask the error and shall then accept a typed character over the masked area, after which the original error shall not be visible. Correction material shall adhere to the copy (corrected) surface without shoeing evidence of cracking or flaking. Also excessive chalking and smudging during the handling of the correction paper which would subsequently affect the performance is not permitted.
Workmanship: Correction material shall be evenly and uniformly coated and free from imperfections which could adversely affect performance serviceability.
Regulatory requirements. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. Packaging, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
NOTE: Type 2 paper, correction, type will be white in color unless otherwise specified.
